20 something degrees

Who goes camping in 20 something degrees?  The Watson family that’s who!

Yep, for our “Fun Friday” we decided to go camping for real this time in Tehachapi.  We packed up our camping gear, made tinfoil dinners to be eaten later that night.  We brought stuff for s’mores, Dutch oven peach cobbler and pancakes and bacon for breakfast.

I managed to get three photo’s.  One when we got there to start our fire and the other two when we got home to capture our visitor we had at 4 a.m., who by the way stole our bacon and my mixing spoon!  We would have had more pictures but while Cordell was making dinner, keeping the fire going and making our breakfast the rest of the family spent the better rest of the time in the car trying to keep warm.

So here you have it, the first ever Watson camping trip.

The Coon who stole our goods.  He climbed on our seats, got in to the cooler and had a great time.  Makes for a great story the kids love to tell over and over again.

Next time we will make sure it is much warmer, it doesn’t dip down in the teens overnight, the trees aren’t covered with ice in the morning and we bring a lock for the cooler.

Walker told us all about the trip and the raccoon in primary yesterday. He didn't mention the cold, and he seemed to think it was a great trip!
